About Me

Born in Sheffield, I have always loved to be creative, whether that be writing stories, making music or shooting films; I love to make new and unique pieces that extend upon the life we live in. It was from this love of creating that I found joy in film. Film is a magical artform that is completely limitless, so many pioneering ideas waiting to be found. I've made it my goal to find and create these.

BFI Film Academy

2018/19

Home: Image

I took part in the BFI Academy (18/19) which was extremely valuable in terms of knowledge and experience. We had talks from many experienced professionals and even got hands on with high-quality equipment. At the end of the course we were tasked with making our own short film. The film I was involved with was  called ‘The Door’, and if I’m being completely honest, I hate it, I feel like the writing is lazy, acting is atrocious and there’s just no meaning or direction to it. It really hurts to say because the BFI was a great opportunity and I, along with the rest of the group, didn’t take it when I had the chance. Although the film itself is bad, I have taken some valuable lessons from it, which I believe has helped me improve in my filmmaking. I will link the short film if you wish to watch it for yourself.

JOHN'S GONE

Music Video

Home: Image

‘John’s Gone’ is a music video I’m working on, for a collaboration between folk singer Lavinia Blackwall and Grimethorpe Colliery Band. As of Writing this, I’m still working on the project, however so far it has been great fun, and although it’s not saying much, it is my most professional project to date. I’m working on it completely alone, apart from with the help of some friend’s acting in it. ‘John’s Gone’ is a weird, yet catchy, song; I decided to reflect this by using bold colours and a jarring stop motion effect on the video. Below is a few pictures of my planning so far.

SIXTH FORM COURSEWORK

With everything that has been going on, over the past year, I’ve had to adapt my coursework, My initial idea would have been tricky to pull off at the best of times, never mind with all of the restrictions now in place. Therefore I have had to come up with an idea that made use of openly available locations and limited the amount of people need to work on it. My coursework script is very nearly complete and is linked below.

ACTING

Home: Image

I started acting this year and, although it has probably not been the best time to start, I have managed to land 2 roles; one was a proof of concept for a sitcom and the other was a short film on rehabilitation (3 Bull Mastiffs in a Corner Kitchen). I thoroughly enjoy acting, and being on set is amazing, I get a clear view of how everyone works together to make a shoot possible. The gallery below showcases pictures of me on some shoots and an annotated script from one of the films I was in (3 Bull Mastiffs in a Corner Kitchen),
